Job Description: Responsible for leading the daily safety activities for the Private Fleet network, while supporting and coordinating the safety and environmental responsibilities of the local Distribution Center (DC). The position will report directly to the Logistics Safety and Compliance Manager. The primary function will be to support the Fleet network leadership and local DC management to ensure all operations are within federal and state regulatory guidelines, compliant with all company policies and consistent with the synergized logistics approach.
The safety responsibility matrix will be of a national exposure and consist of the following components: Five terminal locations in Streetsboro, Oh. Allentown, Pa., Dekalb, Ill. Mira Loma, Ca. and McDonough, Ga. with approximately 130 company drivers, 16 mechanics and 40 owner/operators and one Distribution Center located in DeKalb, IL which has approximately 150 employees.
This individual will be responsible for leading and facilitating the development of a comprehensive, leading edge safety training program while identifying synergistic and collaborative opportunities within the Fleet and DC groups. The program will drive optimal results in the areas of: OSHA, EPA, DOT Reportable/Roadside Inspections and Crash Frequency.
